#Keepiton How You Can Help Stop Internet Censorship In Chad - Internet Sans Frontières
It has been more than three months now that Chadian Internet users can’t access social networks like Facebook, Whatsapp, or Twitter.
The reason for this is political: the Chadian Government ordered Telecommunications operators to cut access to social networks in the wake of massive demonstrations that swept the country this year.
The United Nations, recently adopted a resolution condemning internet shutdowns or disruptions, and affirming that Human Rights must be protected online and offline.
Civil society in Chad needs our support to help its Government understand that Internet is a Human right, which must be protected. Here is how you can help :
- Join our campaign on Thunderclap, so that on July 18, 2016 at 14h GMT + 1 our message to the Chadian Government is posted on all the social networks
- Sign and share the petition “Government of Chad, restore access to social networks“, launched during a facebook live discussion between Chadian civil society and Internet Sans Frontières (Watch here)
- Invite others to co-sign the open letter (already signed by numerous Chadian, African and International civil society organizations) and join the Thunderclap campaign
